Swaddle bath

Last night we did a swaddle bath with Avery. She loved it. The nicu told us about this. You swaddle them in a fleece blanket and bath them and the fleece holds the warmth in and they love it. Bath time was much more enjoyable. The other times we've bathed her she's ended up screaming and crying, but she was so calm and relaxed in the swaddle bath and looked like she was loving life. We kept joking that she was getting spa treatment. It was really cute to see her lie it so much.

The first part of January

We had so much fun with Avery being home and her sweet little personality and disposition! Asher still hasn't back from the hospital yet but getting stronger each day. We had hoped he'd be home for New Year's but he needed a bit longer to recover. So in the meantime at home we were enjoying our sweet Avery and loving her so much!

Growing!

This little sweetie went from being 4.9 lbs and in the 1 percentile two weeks ago to 6.0 lbs today and in the 3rd percentile. On her way to being a chubby baby!

Deep in thought...

Sisters!

These two love holding their little sister! They are constantly saying how cute she is and even said she is cuter then Milly!

It's a good thing Halle makes sure Avery has company during her naps!

Home and Christmas to the end of the year

Avery came home from the hospital tiny and sweet and perfect! We loved having her home and Luke and Halle loved holding her and having a newborn in the house. She was so tiny we called her our little peanut and continued to be surprised with how little she was!

She was such a cute little Christmas baby! She had her first bath, lots of feedings and naps and getting held and loved by everyone.

We missed not having Asher with us yet, and it was a bit of a stressful time going back and forth from home to the hospital to visit Asher and be with him. We couldn't take Avery with us to the hospital, so it was a lot of juggling the kids and Avery and mommy going to see Asher in between feeding times for Avery. It was sad not having him with us on Christmas, but we were able to visit him still.

Even with how busy that was and how much we wished Asher was better and home with us, we were so grateful to have our sweet Avery with us and she brough such a special feeling to our house.
